TENS electrode placement for scar pain
TENS units and electrodes recommendations

How a TENS unit can help you with scar pain
Severe pain due to the hardened connective tissue of the scar can lead to restricted movement. The discomfort usually increases with changes in the weather. This is where a TENS application comes in handy. The tissue around the scarring is loosened and better supplied with blood. Furthermore, the healing of surgical scars can be accelerated, as the TENS pain therapy promotes the blood circulation of the surrounding tissue. The pain around the scar area can thus be relieved.
The correct use of TENS for scar pain
Please note
- you place the TENS - electrodes next to the scar.
- the TENS electrodes are never placed directly on the scar.
- the current strength is set so that you feel it as a pleasant tingling sensation.
Attach the electrodes as shown in the illustration. We recommend the Elektrode 5 x 5 cm electrode for this.

The advantages of TENS treatment
Please note
The current strength should be set so that it is felt as a pleasant tingling sensation. The duration of the application should be approx. 40 minutes in order to be able to achieve a lasting reduction in pain. It is also useful to change the programs every now and then.
