Back Workout With Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)
EMS devices and electrodes recommendations

Strengthen The Back With Muscle Stimulation
The back consists of different muscles that can be trained separately with an EMS machine. The back muscles are very important for our body. They allow us to move the shoulders, support breathing and ensure an upright walk. Because of that, you should not let the back workout slide. With EMS you can build muscles gently and effectively. According to a study by the University of Bayreuth, regular EMS training on different parts of the body can alleviate back pain.

How to place EMS pads for training your back
As a beginner, you can, for example, use the EMS program P18 for large muscle groups from our EMS machine STIM-PRO X9 to start your back training. You can achieve the best results by using the electrode set for the back. Alternatively, you can use the 5 x 5 cm electrodes for smaller muscle groups on your back. We recommend planning 10 - 20 minutes per day for back training to strengthen the muscles and prevent back problems.

Exercise For Your Back Workout
Beginner: Towel rows without EMS
Note: Make sure you wear shoes or non-slip socks. Furthermore make sure that your arms are not fully straightened during the exercise. You can also wrap the towel around a tree if you want to workout outdoors.
- Stand in front of an opened door and wrap the towel around the door handles. There should be an end of the towel in your hand in each case
- Place your feet left and right next to the door. Your heels should be in the same distance like the door handles
- Lean back until your arms are almost fully straightened
- During this step, flex your knees and shift your bum backwards. Your back should stay straight
- Tense your upper back muscles and pull your body up, until your torso almost touches the door
- Slowly get back to the starting position
- Repeat the exercise several times

Please note:
The current strength should be set so that the intended muscle contracts significantly without feeling pain.
Before your workout you should warm up the muscles to prepare them for the upcoming exercise load. Our EMS TENS combo machine offers pre-installed warm-up-programs, which automatically start right before the actual training program. Therefore you can train very relaxed.
